Thrashers head out on seasons first road trip

The U18 Provincial Thrashers will be taking their show out west as they will be taking on the Southwest Cougars this Saturday evening with a 7:30pm puck drop and again Sunday afternoon for a 2pm puck drop.

With a roster of 13 rookies, it was understood that the first half of the season would be somewhat of a roller coaster ride on a daily basis and the season started as such with an error prone loss to the Interlake Lightning followed by two convincing wins over Central Plains Capitals and Norman Northstars with 15 year old goaltenders Hudson Hunnie and Tate Barnaby both chalking up their first U18AAA W in the win column.

This weekend’s opponent the Southwest Cougars will be led be veteran forwards Lyndon Gould and Bryan Laing along with veteran netminder Mickey Gross. The Thrashers will need to play responsibly in their own end if they want to leave Souris with success.
